Rick Ferguson has spent more than three decades building and leading innovative healthcare companies. He began his career at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California, where he directed marketing for pathology and laboratory services. In 1991, he co-founded Reference Pathology Laboratory, which was acquired by AmeriPath in 1995.
Rick went on to co-found US Labs in Irvine, a pioneering cancer diagnostics laboratory specializing in leukemia testing. US Labs was acquired by LabCorp in 2004 for $175 million. He then launched FNA Clinics of America, which was sold to UniLab, where Rick became President of Southern California operations. He later played a key role in UniLab’s acquisition by Quest Diagnostics, serving as West Coast Regional President.
In 2011, Rick founded Women’s Diagnostics, which evolved into Spectrum Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory in Orange County. Today, Spectrum reflects his vision of advancing patient care through cutting-edge molecular testing.
Rick is a proud alumnus of the University of Southern California and continues to drive innovation in healthcare diagnostics.
